The application of EOSTM in adolescent scoliosis
SHI Xiaofeng
Abstract:Scoliosis is a common spinal deformity among teenagers. Traditional X-ray radiography can only evaluate lateral protrusion deformity from two-dimensional plane, and the radiation dose is high. In recent years, the newly EOS imaging acquiring system can simultaneously capture full spine standing anteroposterior and lateral radiographs under the condition of less radiation dose than traditional X-ray and CT, permitting three-dimensional reconstruction of bony structures for a variety of measurement parameters, and can quantitatively evaluate vertebral axial rotation, which is helpful to the diagnosis, classification, surgical planning of scoliosis and postoperative follow-up, especially for adolescent idiopathic scoliosis. The principle, the advantages and application of EOS in adolescent scoliosis were reviewed in this article.
