Abstract:Intracranial vertebral basilar artery belong to posterior circulation, which have many perforator vessels, and is adjacent to many important structures such as brain stem. Its function is extremely important. The function of brain can be damaged when dissecting aneurysm occur . High resolution magnetic resonance imaging ( HRMRI ) is a new technology in recent years. The features of HRMRI include: non-invasion, high resolution, and contrast agents free. It offers clear visualization for vessel wall and lumen, and can provide important imaging features for the diagnosis and differential diagnosis of vertebral basilar artery dissection (VBDA). We mainly introduced the new technology and clinical application of HRMRI in diagnosis of VBDA.
