Application and prospect of health technology assessment in medical imaging

Abstract：The rapid development and widespread use of medical imaging technologies greatly improve the level of national health. However, the irrational distribution of medical resources, inncorrect use of imaging technologies and decreased quality of diagnosis seriously damage the patients' interest, and cause the waste of national medical resources. Health technology assessment has become an important part of national health decision-making in developed countries, whereas domestic developmention in this area is relatively slow. By reviewing the current development situation of health technology assessment and its application in medical imaging, we put forward to establish imaging technology management and evaluation system, which is of great significance in guiding the rational allocation of medical resources, standardizing imaging operation, improving diagnosis quality and promoting health policy transformation.
