Abstract:Positron emission tomography/magnetic resonance imaging (PET/MRI) integrates the function of PET in human physiological metabolism and molecular information with the advantages of MRI in function and anatomical structure. So, PET/MRI is able to play a vital role in the diagnosis and assessments of tumor biological behavior (including staging, grading, infiltration depth, and distant metastasis), curative effect of the treatment, and prognosis of tumour with high accuracy, sensitivity, as well as specificity, reaching the complementary advantages of PET and MRI. Nowdays, PET/MRI has attracted great attention from researchers in scientific community for its great potential to apply to tumour. The purpose of this paper was to review the application status of PET/MRI in tumor, and its development prospect.
