Abstract:The early detection of liver metastases is essential for selecting suitable treatment and improving post operative survival rate. Diffusion weighted imaging(DWI) mainly reflects the Brownian motion of water molecules in the living tissue. It has great advantage in the detection rate and qualitative diagnosis of the focal liver lesions, especially in terms of small liver metastases. While the Gd-EOB-DTPA-enhanced MRI is an imaging method which cannot only provide the liver dynamic enhanced scanning information but also liver specific information. It shows a high accuracy in the detection of liver metastases. This article describes the application of DWI and Gd-EOB-DTPA-enhanced MRI in the detection of liver metastases.
