Application and advances of diffusion kurtosis imaging in abdomen

Abstract：Diffusion kurtosis imaging ( DKI ) is a kind of novel MRI technology enabling characterization of non-Gaussian water diffusion behavior. Although DKI has been largely applied in neurological diseases with good effect over the past decade, a small number of studies have recently explored DKI in other than brain, for example, prostate, kidney, liver and so on. The most investigated organ in abdomen is the prostate, and DKI has improved tumor detection and grading. This article aimed to review the application and advances of DKI in abdomen.
