Abstract:In the CT examination of thyroid calcified lesions, the size, shape and distribution of calcificationit are useful to distinguish between benignancy and malignancy, especially for the coarse calcification and thick-walled annular calcification which can not be well detected in ultrasound examination. In the daily work, accurate identification for the benignancy and malignancy of thyroid calcified lesions is essential for early surgical treatment for the malignant thyroid lesions, and reducing unnecessary surgical trauma in the patients with benign lesions.
