Abstract:Osteoporosis (OP) is a systemic metabolic disease, which is a skeletal disease characterized by loss of bone strength leading to an increased susceptibility to fractures. Bone marrow microenvironment is an important place of bone absorption and bone reconstruction. Adipocyte increasing, microvessel reduction and microcirculatory disturbance are important factors of the genesis and progression of OP. So study of bone marrow adipocyte and microcirculation is critically important. The present paper mainly introduces the progress in imaging research of bone microenvironment.
