Abstract：Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the most common primary malignancy of liver. Imaging examination plays an important role in detection, qualitative analysis, and staging of HCC. Standardized image reporting system can provide complete and accurate staging data, which can reduce imaging interpretation variability, enhance communication with referring clinicians, and optimize the treatment strategy for improving the prognosis of patients. This study was to summarize the update of the Liver Imaging Reporting and Data System and discuss its development in future.
