The MRI research progress in subcortical ischemic vascular dementia
SU Xiaowei
Abstract:Subcortical ischemic vascular dementia (SIVD) is the most severe form of vascular cognitive impairment which is caused by subcortical ischemia. Due to the insidious onset and overlap in clinical manifestations with Alzheimer's disease, early and differential diagnosis is difficult. With the advantages inmultiple techniques, high repeatability and good compliance, imaging plays an irreplaceable role in this filed. Currently, researchers worldwide have been carrying on a lot of studies with various MRI techniques on the early and differential diagnosis of SIVD. We reviewed the progress in this article.
