Abstract:Hepatic schistosomiasis is a parasitic disease which seriously threatens the health of human beings and may cause hepatic fibrosis or cirrhosis, even hepatosis or liver cancer in advanced stage. Early detection and diagnosis of hepatic schistosomiasis are important in planning treatment, monitoring the severity and progression, and assessing prognosis, etc. MRI has rather high sensibility and specificity in the diagnosis of the hepatic schistosomiasis. We reviewed the research status and progress of MRI, especially fMRI, in the diagnosis of the hepatic schistosomiasis.
