Clinical and radiologic appearance of posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome

Abstract:Posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome (PRES) includes the presence of headache, seizures, alternative mental status and visual disturbances, and associates with series of conditions which include of hypertension, eclampsia, renal disease and electrolyte disturbances. MRI examination can find focal reversible vasogenic edema in posterior territory, and angiography can find diffuse or focal vasospasm. We summarized the spectrum of disease related to the PRES and its clinical and radiologic appearance.
