Abstract:Diffusion magnetic resonance imaging is an evolving group of MR techniques displaying tissue by using diffusion characteristics. It provides the application in diagnosing of center nerve system diseases, and imaging of spinal cord, sciatic nerve and median nerve progressively. Brachial plexus is the most complicated peripheral nerves network in human body, which provides the sensory and motor innervation to the upper extremity. The purposes of this article were to illustrate the basic concepts of diffusion magnetic resonance imaging and to review the merits and limits of which applied in brachial plexopathies.
