Imaging research progress in evaluating the severity of acute pancreatitis

Abstract:Acute pancreatitis (AP) is one common cause of acute abdominal pain. Given the diversity of its early clinical manifestations, early and accurate assessment of the severity of AP is of great importance to guide the timely and effectively support treatment and improve the prognosis. Imaging examination has become a very useful method to evaluate the severity of acute pancreatitis. Especially, with the development of the new techniques of functional imaging, it promotes the clinical research and has become a hotspot in recent years. In this review we aimed to summarize the recent imaging research progress in evaluating the severity of acute pancreatitis.
