Abstract:Cerebral vascular damage and cognitive impairment are the most common abnormalities in patients with end-stage renal disease. Severe vascular damage raises more attention clinically, while mild vascular damage and cognitive impairment are often neglected. Diagnosis of mild brain vascular damage and cognitive impairment is the key for early treatment and prevention, which is also a hotspot in recent years. With the development of MRI, new MRI techniques can be helpful in the detection of these abnormalities. In this paper, we reviewed the application and progress of brain MRI in patients with end-stage renal disease.
