Abstract:The ultimate goal of human assisted reproductive technology(ART)is to achieve a single,full-term,healthy live birth.Selecting the embryos with the highest developmental potential for the single embryo transfer(SET)is an effective measure to achieve this goal.Currently, morphological score is the most commonly used as a noninvasive screening method.Although this approach is straightforward and quick,it lacks sufficient accuracy. Therefore,it is essential to develop more objective, comprehensive, and noninvasive methods that can accurately reflect the developmental potential of embryos. In this review,we discuss and analyze the current methods of noninvasive embryo selection, including time-lapse imaging(TLI),metabonomics, proteomics, microRNA(miRNA)and noninvasive chromosomal screening(NICS),to show the direction for future research.
