A Rare Case of Cervical Endometriosis

Abstract:The cervical endometriosis and the cervical malignant melanoma are two rare diseases with no specific clinical manifestations in the early stage of the disease.We reported a case of the cervical endometriosis misdiagnosed as the malignant melanoma of the cervix.The patient was a 51-year-old woman with no clinical symptoms and the lesion was only discovered during a specialist examination.The patient underwent loop electrosurgical excision procedure(LEEP)of cervix on October 25,2023 and was finally diagnosed by pathological examination.We summarized the characteristics of cervical endometriosis and cervical malignant melanoma by referring to relevant literature,so as to improve the understanding and knowledge of these two diseases.Combined with the clinical characteristics and treatment process of this case,the diagnosis and differential diagnosis,and the treatment of these two diseases were discussed,including the causes of misdiagnosis and the prevention of misdiagnosis.
