Abstract:The maternal-fetal interface is essential for successful embryo implantation and subsequent placental development. Many studies have showed that the maternal-fetal interface is rich in the annexin A(AnxA)family, and that AnxA family not only regulates the biological behavior of trophoblast cells at the maternal-fetal interface, but also participates in the metaphase reaction. Therefore, the aberrant expression of the AnxA family is associated with a range of adverse pregnancy outcomes, such as recurrent implantation failure and recurrent pregnancy loss.Clarifying the role of the AnxA family at the maternal-fetal interface will help to understand better the mechanism of action of AnxA leading to adverse pregnancy outcomes, and to provide new targets for the treatment of related diseases. The possible roles of the AnxA family at the maternal-fetal interface and in the related adverse pregnancy are summarized in this review,to show a potential direction of the treatment of adverse pregnancy outcomes.
