Abstract:Pregnancy complications are very common in obstetrics, especially pregnancy with diabetes and hypertension, which seriously threaten the life safety and health of maternal, fetal and newborns. In recent years, several studies showed that pregnancy with diabetes and hypertension could also have long-term effects on offspring, such as adulthood obesity, type 2 diabetes and hypertension. Those effects were defined as the fetal origin of adult diseases. However, study on the long-term effects of pregnancy complications on offspring health is limited, especially in our country. We here reviewed the research progress on the effects of pregnancy complications on offsprings.
