Abstract:Endometriosis(EMs)is a common gynecological disease with a prevalence of 6%to 10%in women of reproductive age.Although endometriosis is morphologically benign,it is susceptible to implantation, invasion and distant metastasis.Ovarian endometriosis is one of the most common forms of endometriosis, which is prone to recurrence after treatment and poses a serious threat to female reproductive health. In recent years,a large number of studies have found that ovarian endometriosis has the potential for malignant transformation into ovarian cancer. In the malignant transformation process of ovarian endometriosis, the most common mutations are in the ARID1A and PIK3CA genes, which occur in the early stage of malignancy. The current status of ARID1A and PIK3CA mutations in malignant transformation of ovarian endometriosis is reviewed.
