Abstract:Non-protein-coding RNAs account for 70%of total RNAs in our body, and long non-coding RNAs (lncRNA) are non-protein-coding RNAs that consist of more than 200 nucleotides. lncRNAs do not encode proteins, but they have complicated functions in regulating gene expression. Since the expression of lncRNA is characterized by time-specificity, tissue-specificity and disease specificity, the functions of lncRNA in cancer development draw more and more attention and lncRNA is considered as a potential tumor marker and therapeutic target. Epithelial ovarian cancer is the commonest ovarian cancer. Due to lack of sensitive early diagnostic marker and lack of effective therapeutic strategy, mortality rate of epithelial ovarian cancer remains highest among gynecological carcinoma. Researches on expression, function and mechanism of lncRNA relating to ovarian cancer are thriving to be research hotspots. Summarizing existing results on lncRNA relating to epithelial ovarian cancer could shed light on understanding pathogenesis of epithelial ovarian cancer and do help to explore more sensitive tumor marker and more effective therapeutic target.
