Progress in Diagnosis and Treatment of Uterine Malformation and Its Effects on Reproductive Prognosis
WANG Dan-dan
Abstract:Uterine malfomation is common female reproductive system dysplasia, containing a variety of types. Though there are several classification systems in clinical practice, the standard of classification is not unified. Accurate classification is important for assessing patient and making treatment plan. Ultrasonography and MRI have been widely used to diagnose and classify uterine malformation. Different types of uterine malformation can bring different degree of effects on female fertility and pregnant outcome. With the development of minimally invasive technologies, hysteroscopy combined with or without laparoscopic uterine malformation metroplasty has gradually replaced traditional laparotomy surgery. However, there is still no certain conclusion on whether or not uterine malformation metroplasty could improve female reproductive prognosis and the pregnant outcomes.
