Abstract：This review focuses on morphological and physiological reactions of fruit tree to water stress.Leaf area,root growth and microstructure of leaves and roots were investigated.Some physiological and biochemical index of fruit tree leaves and roots under water stress,such as variations of stomatal aperture,photosynthesis,photoinhibition,metabolism of lipoxygenase,content of proline,nuclear acid and endogenous phytohormones,were summarized.
