Abstract:The tissue culture banana seedlings were planted in the big shed and treated with four shading levels in winter and spring. The light conditions were 100%(S100),33%(S33),10%(S10) and 3%(S3). It had been shown that effects of the different light intensity on the seedling height, stem diameter, leaf length and width, numbers of leaf, leaf area, total numbers of root and number of long roots were significantly different. The winter was favourable for the growth of roots, but the spring was favourable for the development of above ground part of the plant. The S33 light system was the best to growth of banana seedlings in spring or winter. It was shown that appropriate shading was favourable for the growth of banana seedlings. The response of various characters to the same shading level was different in winter or spring.
