Abstract:Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography(ERCP)is one of the most common and effective clinical methods for diagnosing and treating biliary and pancreatic diseases.However,post-ERCP pancreatitis(PEP),one of the most frequent complications of ERCP,has significantly impacted the prognosis of patients.Research on preventing PEP is crucial for enhancing the safety and applicability of ERCP.This article comprehensively reviews current approaches to PEP prevention, including pharmacological, procedural, and combined interventions.Pharmacological strategies include agents such as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs(NSAID),nitroglycerin, protease inhibitors, and pancreatic enzyme secretion inhibitor.Procedural prevention primarily encompasses techniques such as endoscopic nasobiliary drainage(ENBD)and pancreatic duct stenting. The combined application of different preventive methods for multi-target intervention can enhance prophylactic efficacy.Further exploration of optimal prevention strategies for different patient populations is still required in the future.
