Abstract:Prostate cancer(PCa)is one of the most prevalent malignancies in males worldwide, with steadily increasing incidence and mortality rates. While prostate-specific antigen(PSA),a protein secreted by the prostate gland, has been widely used for PCa screening and monitoring, its limited specificity has become increasingly apparent.Recent studies demonstrate that prostate-specific antigen isoform 2(p2PSA)and its derivatives exhibit superior stability and specificity, significantly enhancing screening accuracy. These novel biomarkers not only reduce unnecessary prostate biopsies but also correlate strongly with pathological grading.Furthermore, they show promising clinical utility in prognostic evaluation following radical prostatectomy.
