Experimental Analysis of Hydraulic Characteristics of Self-suction Micro-irrigation Emitter
Abstract:Hydraulic properties are the key indexes to weigh the performance of irrigation equipment. In this paper, the hydraulic properties, such as variation coefficient of discharge, relationship between flow and pressure, and water distribution uniformity of self-suction micro-irrigation emitter that was a new kind of water-saving irrigation equipment, were studied. Results showed that variation coefficient of discharge was close to 5% under 0.02 MPa and as working pressure increased,it decreased first and then increased;water discharge increased with increasing working pressure, and there was a good power function relationship between working pressure and flow;coefficient of water distribution uniformity changed between 83% and 93% and as working pressure increased,it increased first and then decreased. Therefore,to get better performance of self-suction micro-irrigation emitter, working pressure is recommended between 0.018 and 0.025 MPa.
