Effect of Different Irrigation Norm on Yield and Fiber Quality of Potted Cotton
Abstract:A potting experiment was carried out to investigate the effect of different irrigation quantity on cotton. With transgenic insect-resistance hybrid cultivars Huazamian H318 as materials,5 irrigation rates(T1,T2,T3,T4,T5) were set up with reference to the natural evaporation.T1,T2,T3,T4,T5 is 100%,90%,80%,70% and 60%,respectively.The results indicated that higher boll retention rate and bolls per plant appeared to result from the more irrigation quantity.Irrigation rate significantly affected seed cotton yield and water use efficiency of cotton plant. The cotton plant produced more seed cotton yield as irrigation rate increased.Irrigation quantity had little impact on fiber quality, only micronaire value decreased as irrigation quantity increase.Considering the cotton yield, quality and water use efficiency,T3(80%) is the best irrigation rate.
