Effects of Physical and Chemical Characteristics of Soils on the Adsorption of Cd
Abstract：The effects of physical and chemical characteristics of soils on the adsorption of Cd were studied in this paper.Four types of soils were test using the batch techniques.The absorption reaction of Cd was in equilibrium within 24 hours for four types of soils.The absorption of Cd increased with increasing pH of soil and the contents of organic matters in soil.It is composition but not the contents of clay mineral of soil which affect the adsorption of Cd in soils.Therefore,it is posssile to control the environmental effect of Cd by altering the physical and chemical characteristics of soils.
