Effects of Ventilation Irrigation on Yield and Fruit Quality of Tomato
Abstract:Non-ventilation irrigation used as control group, two different kinds of ventilation volume (50% of soil porosity as a reference standard, ventilation coefficients were set 0.8, 1.2) and with three different soil moisture (60%- 70%, 70%- 80%, 80%- 90% of field capacity) were set. The growth of tomato plants under ventilation irrigation treatment was significantly promoted. In addition to T2 treatment (ventilation coefficient is 1.2, 60 %-70% of field capacity), yields of the remaining ventilation irrigation were higher (20M) than non-ventilation irrigation. The content of Vitamin c, the content of solvable solid content and sugar-acid ratio was higher under T3 treatment (ventilation coefficient is 0.8, 70%-80% of field capacity). It is concluded that ventilation irrigation of T3 treatment could increase tomato yield and improve fruit quality significantly.
