Abstract:Decoupling is an necessary measure to reduce or remove the impact among individual pools.Interaction in constant downstream depth operation of canal is analyzed. Two decoupling methods,i.e.gate opening decoupler (Decoupler 1 and Decoupler 2) and flow decoupler are studied based on their structures and principles. And the two decoupling methods and their decoupler constants are examined by means of numerical simulation for the emergency sector of South-to-North Water Diversion Project from Shijiazhuang to Beijing. The simulation results show that the two decoupling methods can both reduce the upstream and downstream impact, and the flow decoupler perform better than that of gate opening decoupler.Decoupler makes the controller more aggressive.Decoupler constants influence response time and oscillation intensity of the canal pools, therefore,it's better to determine the decoupler constants by means of numerical simulation.
