Indicators of Water Utilization Characteristics for the Agricultural Irrigation Dividing Area in Shandong Province

Abstract：Using the data of agricultural water demand and crop water consumption from every region in Shandong province during the years 2000～2005, calculated the indicators of water shortage degree in ever-y region; and then determined each region irrigation corresponding indicators in accordance with the cur-rent four major types of irrigation area; finally, get the indicators of status of water usage level around Shandong Province. The lower value of these relevant indicators show that the water situation is grim a-round Shandong agriculture and it is needs to develop high efficient water-saving irrigation technologies in line with local conditions. At the same time, the identification indicators got in this paper provides a scien-tific basis for the rational usage of agricultural water consumption.
