Abstract:In this study, an inverse method was applied to solve the nitrate transport equation (convection-dispersion equation, CDE) iteratively to estimate the average distribution of source-sink term in CDE, then the estimated average distribution of source-sink term in CDE was used to optimize the parameter in root-nitrogen-uptake model, i. e. root-nitrogen-uptake factor. Soil nitrate transports in soil columns with win-ter wheat seedlings growth under different irrigation treatments were simulated with the established root-nitrogen-uptake model. The simulated soil nitrate concentration distributions were coincident well with the measured, furthermore, the relative errors between the measured and estimated total nitrogen masses ex-tracted by winter wheat were lessen than 10%.
