Mechanism of Water-saving and Yield-raising Under Low-pressure Multi-hole Sprinkler Irrigation

Abstract：Effects of low-pressure multi-hole sprinkler irrigation on crop water requirement, farmlandmicroclimate conditions and water use efficiency in wheat-cotton intercropping system are investigat-ed. Experimental data show that water application in field with low-pressure multi-hole sprinkler irri-gation system can be reduced about 45％～47% for wheat season, compared with continuous borderirrigation, and water application will decrease about 43% in cotton season with low-pressure multi-hole sprinkler irrigation, compared with continuous furrow irrigation. Water utili2ation efficiencyreached 1. 88～1.95 kg /m3 and 0.35 kg/m3 for wheat and cotton respectively.
