Global epidemic status and prevention and control strategies of Chikungunya fever

Abstract：As an acute infectious disease transmitted by Aedes mosquitoes,the control of Chikungunya fever faces multiple critical challenges:expanding mosquito distribution,rapid cross-regional transmission and mutation,along with the lack of specific antiviral drugs and widely available vaccines.Developing more effective prevention and control strategies has become a global priority in research.This paper examines the current status of global Chikungunya outbreaks and recent advancements in prevention and control.It systematically reviews key aspects,including pathogen characteristics,epidemiological patterns worldwide,transmission models,mosquito surveillance technologies,and vaccine and antiviral drug development,aiming to provide theoretical foundation for formulating effective control strategies.
