Abstract:Rheumatoid arthritis(RA)is a chronic, progressive, multisystem autoimmune disease of unknown etiology. It is also a common, destructive, symmetric polyarthritis, although the pathogenesis of RA is not fully understood, but many studies have confirmed the role of free radicals in the development of this disease. These chemicals in joint synovial inflammation and bone degradation can directly or indirectly promote synovial and bone damage.Reactive oxygen species(ROS)are particularly prominent, and excessive ROS production disrupts the redox balance and amplifies the inflammatory response through a corresponding pathway. This article reviews various drugs targeting ROS for the treatment of RA.Natural antioxidants, nanotargeted materials, and traditional Chinese medicine have shown great potential in inhibiting ROS generation and regulating inflammatory responses.Additionally, approaches such as molecular hydrogen and bee venom also provide more options for the treatment of RA.This study provides theoretical basis and clinical translation support for the development and application of anti-RA drugs targeting ROS.
