Effect of case management on sick shame and social function of patients with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder in community

Abstract:Objective To study the effect of case management on sick shame and social function of patients with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder in community.Methods A total of 240 patients with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder was randomized to case or routine management groups.Sick Shame Assessment Scale(SSAS)and Social Functioning Deficit Screening Scale(SDSS)were used to evaluate the sick shame and social function before and 3,6 and 12 months after intervention.Results Compared with routine group,SSAS and SDSS were lower(P<0.05)in case management group 3,6 and 12 months after intervention.Conclusion Case management could reduce the sick shame and social function of patients with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder in community.
