Plasma levels of P-seletin and laminin in patients with lung cancer and their clinical significance
Abstract:Objective:To study the plasma levels of P-selectin(P-sel)and laminin(LN)in patients with lung cancer and their clinical significance. Methods:The plasma levels of P-sel and LN were detected by ELISA in 85 patients with lung cancer at different clinical stages and in 30 normal volunteers. Results:The plasma levels of P-sel and LN were significantly higher in patients than those in normal controls(P<0.01).The LN concentration of small cell type of lung cancer was higher than that of non-small cell type, but that of P-sel was not different between them. The P-sel and LN concentrations were higher in extensive small cell type than those in limited. In non-small cell type, the P-sel and LN levels at stage Ⅲ and Ⅳ were higher than those at stage Ⅱ,and so did between stage Ⅳ and Ⅲ.The plasma levels of P-sel and LN were decreased obviously in small cell type after chemotherapy. Conclusion:It is suggested that the elevation of P-sel and LN levels corresponds to the progressions of lung cancer.Detection of plasma levels of P-sel and LN may therefore provide a useful tool for monitoring the clinical course and therapeutic efficacy in patients with lung cancer.
