Pathogenesis and early identification of refractory mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia in children

Abstract:The incidence and severity of refractory Mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia(RMPP)in children have increased in recent years.Macrolide antibiotic resistance contributes to the development of RMPP;however, some patients still benefit from these drugs, and the relationship between resistance and clinical response warrants further investigation.Differential expression of non-coding RNAs has been observed in RMPP patients, influencing multiple biological proces-ses during Mycoplasma pneumoniae(MP)infection, providing a novel perspective for understanding RMPP pathogenesis. In addition to classical biomarkers such as lactate dehydrogenase(LDH),C-reactive protein(CRP),and D-dimer,potential new predictive indicators-including vitamin A,high mobility group box 1(HMGB1),and atopic constitution-are discussed, along with predictive models. These approaches may have clinical applications for early identification of RMPP,prediction of disease severity, and guidance of therapeutic strategies.
