Abstract:Objective To explore the correlation between Ascertain Dementia 8(AD8)and clock drawing test(CDT)and fall risk in patients with Parkinson's disease, and to provide a rapid and effective cognitive assessment tool for fall risk assessment in patients with Parkinson's disease. Methods From June 2023 to December 2024,a total of 45 in-patients with Parkinson's disease in the First Affiliated Hospital of Kunming Medical University were enrolled. The number of falls within half a year was retrospectively recorded. The time of up and go in three meters was tested. And the fall effi-cacy score, clock drawing test(CDT)and memory impairment self-rating scale(AD8)were used to evaluate the fall ef-ficacy.The correlation between fall and cognitive function was analyzed. Results The scores of fall efficacy,CDT and AD8 showed significant differences(P<0.05),with the characteristics of normality. The average score of CDT and three meter up-and-go time could explain 12.5%of the variation of fall history. And the score of AD8 and fall efficacy could explain 29.7%of the variation of fall history. Conclusion The results of AD8 combined with CDT are correlated with the risk of falls, which can quickly and effectively evaluate the cognitive function of patients with Parkinson's disease, provide a basis for predicting the risk of falls in patients with Parkinson's disease, and improve work efficiency.
