Abstract:Objective To investigate the clinical effects of repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation(rTMS)combined with proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation(PNF)training in patients with stroke hemiplegia. Methods A total of 60 elderly patients with post-stroke hemiplegia admitted to our hospital from January 2022 to September 2023 were enrolled and randomly assigned into two groups. On the basis of routine rehabilitation, the control group received PNF training, while the experimental group received PNF training combined with rTMS.The treatment efficacy, upper and lower limb Fugl-Meyer Assessment(FMA)scores,Berg Balance Scale(BBS)scores,Modified Barthel Index(MBI),Trunk Impairment Scale(TIS),and Functional Ambulation Classification(FAC)were compared between the two groups. Results The overall effective rate in the experimental group was 96.67%,significantly higher than 80.00%in the con-trol group(P<0.05).After treatment, the experimental group showed higher upper limb FMA scores(48.21±6.96)and lower limb FMA scores(27.50±3.42)compared with the control group(43.67±6.54 and 24.83±3.56,respec-tively),with both groups showing significant improvements compared with baseline(P<0.05).Post-treatment BBS scores in the experimental group were also significantly higher than those in the control group(P<0.05),with both groups improving compared with pretreatment(P<0.05).Similarly,the experimental group showed significantly higher post-treatment MBI,TIS,and FAC scores than the control group(P<0.05),and all these indices improved signifi-cantly compared with baseline in both groups(P<0.05).Conclusion In elderly patients with stroke hemiplegia,rTMS combined with PNF training can enhance motor function, improve balance, and increase daily living activities, showing substantial clinical value.
