Abstract:Repeated sperm cryopreservation is an effective approach to maximize the utilization of limited sperm resources, offering a valuable option for men who can no longer provide sperm. The cry opreservation of any viable sperm is worthwhile,as intracytoplasmic sperm injection(ICSI)for each oocyte requires only a single sperm cell. After the first thawing of frozen semen for use in assisted reproductive technology(ART),motile sperm often remain available. This re-view summarizes the detrimental effects of repeated freeze-thaw cycles on human sperm motility, viability, morphology, and DNA integrity,as well as the influencing factors, aiming to provide references and recommendations for the reuse and re-cryopreservation of surplus sperm in ART.
