Abstract:Objective To investigate the prevalence and risk factors of H-type hypertension among residents aged 40 years and older in Zhongshan City, and to provide evidence for the development of targeted regional prevention and control policies. Methods Data were obtained from the 2022-2023 National Stroke High-Risk Population Screening and Intervention Program.Univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses were performed to evaluate the preva-lence and associated risk factors of H-type hypertension. Results Among 7 015 residents surveyed, the overall preva-lence of H-type hypertension was 31.8%.The prevalence was significantly higher in men than in women(41.6%vs.25.7%).Multivariate logistic regression identified the following independent risk factors for H-type hypertension:in-creasing age(50-59 years:OR=1.56;60-69 years:OR=2.04;70-79 years:OR=2.89;≥80 years:OR=3.95),male sex(OR=2.16),lower educational attainment(high school:OR=0.82;above high school:OR=0.72),frequent alcohol consumption(OR=1.18),lack of physical activity(OR=1.18),family history of hypertension(OR=1.46),overweight/obesity(OR=1.29),central obesity(OR=1.38),and dyslipidemia(OR=1.50).Occasional al-cohol consumption was associated with a slightly reduced risk(OR=0.85).Conclusion The prevalence of H-type hy-pertension among residents aged 40 years and older in Zhongshan City is substantial, with numerous modifiable risk fac-tors.Early identification and targeted intervention on these risk factors are essential for the development of effective region-al prevention strategies.
