Abstract:Objective To investigate the effects of an internet-based remote rehabilitation model on motor re-covery and daily self-care ability in stroke patients. Methods Seventy stroke patients were randomly assigned into two groups:the Outpatient Rehabilitation Group(n=35)and the Remote Rehabilitation Group(n=35).The Outpatient Group received conventional,therapist-guided rehabilitation training in a clinical setting, while the Remote Group per-formed home-based exercises under the supervision of family members, following personalized training protocols provided by therapists through an online rehabilitation platform.Functional status was evaluated before and after a 4-week inter-vention using the Manual Muscle Testing(MMT),Modified Ashworth Scale,Berg Balance Scale,Fugl-Meyer Assess-ment(FMA)for motor function, and the Modified Barthel Index(MBI)for activities of daily living. Results After 4 weeks of intervention, both groups exhibited significant improvements in MMT,Modified Ashworth scores,FMA scores,MBI scores, and balance function(P<0.05).Group comparisons revealed that the Remote Rehabilitation Group showed significantly greater improvements in FMA,MBI,and balance function compared to the Outpatient Group(P<0.05).However,there were no significant differences between the groups in terms of MMT and Modified Ashworth score improve-ments(P>0.05).Conclusion Internet-based remote rehabilitation is an effective alternative for promoting motor function recovery in post-stroke patients, particularly in enhancing balance and activities of daily living. While it may not provide additional benefits in improving muscle strength or reducing spasticity, remote rehabilitation should be considered an important component of long-term stroke recovery management following discharge.
