Abstract:Objective To assess the effectiveness of a gamified virtual reality mirror visual feedback(VR-MVF)rehabilitation system on improving upper limb motor function in post-stroke patients. Methods In this random-ized controlled trial,60 post-stroke patients were allocated into two groups:the control group(n=29)received conven-tional exercise therapy for 60 minutes per session, while the observation group(n=31)underwent a combined regimen of VR-MVF game training(30 minutes)and conventional exercise therapy(30 minutes)per session.Treatments were ad-ministered once daily,5 days per week, for 2 weeks.Upper limb motor function was evaluated using the Fugl-Meyer As-sessment(FMA),Brunnstrom staging, and joint range of motion measurements at baseline and after 2 weeks of interven-tion.Additionally,correlations between game performance and changes in motor function were analyzed. Results Post-treatment,the observation group demonstrated significant improvements in shoulder abduction,flexion/extension,elbow flexion/extension,FMA scores, and Brunnstrom upper limb stages compared with the control group(P<0.05).Within the observation group, significant enhancements in these outcomes were observed from baseline to post-intervention(P<0.05).However,the change in overall game score did not show a significant correlation with the magnitude of motor func-tion improvement or final motor scores. Conclusion Gamified VR-MVF therapy significantly enhances upper limb motor function in post-stroke patients and represents a promising adjunct to conventional rehabilitation training, although its effect on overall motor performance requires further investigation.
