Abstract:Autism spectrum disorder(ASD)is a neurodevelopmental disorder that emerges in early childhood, imposing significant burdens on families and society.Currently,ASD diagnosis primarily depends on behavioral rating scales, which are highly subjective and require considerable cooperation from patients.Hence, the identification of objec-tive biomarkers is crucial. The N170-an event-related potential component elicited by faces-is considered a highly promising objective marker. This review examines the relationship between the N170 and ASD,focusing on its potential applications in early diagnosis and clinical assessment.Additionally, the review discusses the underlying mechanisms as-sociated with N170 in the context of ASD.
