Abstract:Objective To explore the efficacy of Gua Sha therapy guided by the Meridian Flow Theory in the treatment of Grade Ⅰ primary hypertension of Yin deficiency and Yang hyperactivity type, and its effects on serum homo-cysteine(HCY)and C-reactive protein(CRP)levels. Methods Fifty-eight patients with Grade Ⅰ primary hyper-tension of Yin deficiency and Yang hyperactivity type, who were treated in our hospital from December 1,2019,to De-cember 31,2021,were selected for this study.Using a digital random table method, the patients were divided into a study group and a control group, with 29 patients in each group. The control group received conventional lifestyle interventions, while the study group received Gua Sha therapy guided by the Meridian Flow Theory in addition to the conventional lifes-tyle interventions. After three months of continuous treatment, the therapeutic effects and the impact on serum HCY and CRP levels were compared between the two groups. Results After treatment, the symptoms of dizziness,insomnia,tinni-tus,five-heart vexing heat, and soreness and weakness in the lumbar and knees in the study group were significantly im-proved compared to before treatment(P<0.05).Compared with the control group, the study group's traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)symptoms showed significant improvement after treatment(P<0.05).After treatment, both groups showed reductions in diastolic and systolic blood pressure, with the study group exhibiting significantly lower diastolic and systolic blood pressure than the control group(P<0.05).Additionally,serum CRP and HCY levels decreased in both groups after treatment, with the study group showing a more pronounced reduction compared to the control group(P<0.05).Furthermore,the scores of the Dusi Hypertension Quality of Life Scale in all dimensions increased in both groups after treatment, with the study group showing a more significant increase(P<0.05).Compared to before treatment, the scores of the Dusi Hypertension Quality of Life Scale in all dimensions were significantly improved in both groups after treatment(P<0.05).Conclusion Gua Sha therapy guided by the Meridian Flow Theory for patients with Grade Ⅰ pri-mary hypertension of Yin deficiency and Yang hyperactivity type can reduce blood pressure and serum CRP and HCY lev-els,alleviate TCM symptoms, and improve quality of life.It has a high safety profile and is worthy of clinical promotion.
