Abstract:Objective To understand the incidence and possible influencing factors of depression and anxiety in treatment-na?ve HIV/AIDS patients, and to provide a theoretical basis for promoting physical and mental health of HIV/AIDS patients. Methods A total of 826 HIV/AIDS outpatients in Changsha first hospital were recruited. SDS (ZUNG self-rating depression scale), SAS (ZUNG self-rating anxiety scale), a self-made questionnaire and psychological diagnosis CT were performed on all participants. The results were analyzed by SPSS. Results The prevalence of depression and anxiety symptoms was 40.07%, as the diagnosis of depression and anxiety was proved in 144 cases (17.43%). The multi-factor regression analysis showed that sex (OR=5.002, 95CI%: 2.669-9.449), divorced or widowed (OR=3.249, 95%CI: 1.582-6.675), combined diseases (OR=2.804, 95%CI: 1.745-4.507), and opportunistic infections (OR=5.910, 95%CI: 2.857-12.226) were the risk factors of depression and anxiety; but CD4+T cell count (OR=0.333, 95%CI: 0.221-0.502), and platelet count (OR=0.130, 95%CI: 0.071-0.236) were the protective factors. Conclusion Depression and anxiety is common in treatment-na?ve HIV/AIDS individuals and the health workers should pay more attention on it.
