Clinical efficacy of acupoint application of traditional Chinese medicine on liver Yang Hyperactivity type vertigo

Abstract:Objective To evaluated the treatment of liver Yang Hyperactivity vertigo with acupoint application of traditional Chinese medicine .Methods A total of 90 subjects were randomly divided into experimental group and control group (n=40).Ten cases were lost of follow -up.All subjects received routine treatment and health education , while the subjects in the experimented group received acupoint application of traditional Chinese medicine for 8 h each time, which last 10 consecutive courses of treatment .The scores of vertigo clinical symptom rating scale (VSS-C) and blood pressure were monitored before and after the treatment .Results After treatment, VSS-C score showed a decreasing trend, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).The effective rate was 60.3%in the experimental group and 36.7%in the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).The vertigo recurrence was signifi-cantly lower in the experiment group than that in the control group (P<0.05).Conclusion Acupoint application of tra-ditional Chinese medicine has a good curative effect on the treatment of liver Yang Hyperactivity type vertigo .
