The study of tricin on anti - allergic activity

Abstract：Objective To investigate the effect of tricin on anti - allergic reaction. Methods All experiment animals were grouped into positive group, NS group, high dose group, medium dose group and low dose group. The isolated intestine, mast cell degranulation on skull periosteum and airway inflammation reaction experiments were conducted. Results The tricin final concentrations of 1 × 10-5, 2 × 10-5 and 4 × 10-5 g/mL could significantly antagonize the increase of ileum smooth muscle tension caused by the OVA (P＜0.01). The tricin final concentration of 2 × 10-5 g/mL significantly inhibited the histamine - induced increase of ileum smooth muscle tension in normal guinea pig. Compared with the controls, the mast cell degranulation on skull periosteum in rats, white blood cell, eosinophilic count and percent of eosinophils in the blood of sensitized rats were significantly reduced by Tricin at 5 mg/kg and 10 mg/kg (P＜0.05). Conclusion Tricin showed anti - allergic activity in guinea pigs and rats.
